ABOUT

Described as 'Ireland's darkest jewel' and 'like an episode of Twin Peaks in female form', Laura Sheeran has always pushed the boundaries – from her earliest CD-R releases in the 2000s to her accomplished and critically acclaimed album releases in the 2010s. Now, after a seven-year hiatus from music, Sheeran returns with a new multimedia project, PERSONA.

The first musical offering from PERSONA comes in the shape of EYES ON ME,  a throbbing debut single which cuts like a knife through the noise.

Her highly-anticipated return, co-produced and mixed by BRIAN BOLGER at THIRD EAR, Dublin and mastered by Joe LaPorta at Sterling Sound, New York, is accompanied by both a music video and a digital zine, which features essays, interviews, visual art and photography from a cohort of contributors. This collaboration seeks to excavate a deeper understanding of the concepts and themes explored in the song.

PERSONA is not just a musical endeavour but a vessel for the realisation of Laura's expansive creativity in its many forms.

The debut PERSONA album, NON-FICTION is due for release later this year.

DEBUT SINGLE

“I wanted to celebrate the divinity of the female body while also acknowledging the power of sexual desire and enjoyment from the female perspective”

With the introductory track EYES ON ME, Sheeran unapologetically revels in her role as the object of desire. The track is an exploration of female sexuality and of physical desire. Sheeran invites the listener to embrace a nuanced and liberated view of female sexuality. She takes command and subverts the male gaze as she shifts the focus back to the woman's own pleasure.
